My wife and I brought our dog in and had a coffee each, loaded hash browns, and got some dog ice cream, all of us loved it! Gemma and Clive are great and the cafe is a lovely place to have a coffee or breakfast. They also host the Anlaby Board Game Society, which is a brilliant way to spend a night

Food delicious and a reasonable price. Staff friendly and welcoming. Environment appealing including a covered outside area- great for 'oldies' that cannot take the full sun and people with their dogs. Parking provided at the rear of the premises so don't let the position on a busy road put you off.

What an absolute gem. Visited the other day for a late lunch. Not been before but got a really friendly welcome from the lady who was working, decided to sit back way as the sun was out. Lovely little terrace, very cosy and nice atmosphere, we all went for coronation chicken sandwiches which were lovely and fresh with fresh salad and homemade coleslaw , side order of chips. All really nice and well presented, will definitely go again but take our dog next time. Great addition to the area.

Lovely family run buisness which is beautifully decorated and clean wit a big outdoor space and very reasonably priced. Menu has a good variety and a strong cake selection. Lovely experience x

Where has this place been all my life? I discovered Gelli’s thanks to a friend’s recommendation one morning when I was craving a proper breakfast - something outside the usual city centre spots like Nibble. And let me tell you, I’m officially converted. Gelli’s is a charming little bistro-café with a welcoming atmosphere. The two staff members on shift were fantastic - attentive, friendly, and more than happy to chat with customers who wanted a bit of conversation. The space itself was spotless, nicely decorated, and had a cozy, inviting feel. Now, onto the food - the real star of the show. I opted for the breakfast muffin, which was essentially a full English breakfast neatly packed into a toasted bun, minus the messy elements like beans and tomatoes. But the real game-changer? The loaded hash browns. A special recommendation from the chef, these aren’t on the regular menu, but I get the feeling that if you asked, they’d make them for you anyway. Three crispy hash browns topped with diced bacon, spring onion, sriracha mayo, and chili sauce - absolute perfection. Every bite was packed with flavor, and I was genuinely blown away. I can already tell this will become a regular spot for me. Fantastic food, great service, and all without breaking the bank. If you haven’t been yet, get yourself to Gelli’s - you won’t regret it!

My girlfriend and I went in for brunch and left completely stuffed. The traditional breakfast was cooked to perfection, with generous portion sizes. We also stayed for coffee and a sweet treat, enjoying the Victoria sponge cake and the chocolate brownie with two iced lattes. I couldn’t fault the staff at all! Being both dog- and child-friendly, what more could you want for the local community?

We had a lovely afternoon tea for my sisters baby shower this weekend and it was perfect from start to finish. The setting was lovely, and the food was delicious—especially the scones and sausage rolls. There was a great variety, and everything was fresh and well presented. The staff were so friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. It was a really special and relaxing afternoon and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone planning a baby shower or anyone who wanted to pop for a coffee as they do a good coffee!
